train & play Days

We run Train & Play days at 11:00am on Sundays fortnightly at Lords Recreation Centre in Subiaco. Sometimes the days/dates could change due to court availability - you can check the dates of upcoming sessions below.

Some of the things we hear the most is “I don’t know how to play ball” and “I am not fit enough to play”. If you’re thinking like this, then we have got just the place for you!

Our Sunday social basketball sessions (known as Train and Plays) are currently free for 18+ community, and offer a supportive, welcoming space to get involved. The sessions start with a light warm up, followed by some basketball basics. We will teach you how to catch, bounce, dribble, pass and shoot your way down the court, all whilst getting our boogie on to some tunes on the Perth Spectres playlist.

After the drills, we go into some social basketball games where you can put it all into action and a fun and non-judgmental game environment. Given the nature of the training, we do ask that attendees be 18+ years of age. If you're under 18, or have someone in mind who is, drop us a line and we can chat about what we can do to help!

Once the session is over, we usually go for food (which is usually needed after a good basketball boogie session). So come on down and give it a try at our next session!

We have a zero tolerance for any form of discrimination, including homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. We are committed to providing a safe, fun, and inclusive space for all people, including those with diverse sexualities and genders.
